The carved Grey M, Caledonia and Ebony Black Italian granite surfaces of 400 WEST MARKET ascend 35 stories in height to a dramatically lit Romanesque dome, establishing a strong architectural identity and a commanding skyline silhouette as Kentucky's tallest office tower. At street level, a 50 foot high base accented by a cornice of polished black granite preserves an intimate, human scale.
Elegant twin lobbies draw the public into 400 WEST MARKET. The lobbies are adorned with cherry and walnut woods, rich marbles and granites, and stainless steel trim to create an impressive yet inviting entryway. Four uniquely designed, bowl-shaped glass lamps on marble pillars adorn each lobby.
A landscaped public plaza, paved in patterned granite and featuring decorative lamps, plants, flowering trees and four fountains, provides a lively gathering place. The plaza's open and attractive feel attracts people from the downtown area to come and relax. The fountains are connected to a wind gauge to coordinate appropriate water level with wind conditions. Six flame-shaped laminated dichroic glass lamps on cast-iron posts were designed by a local artist to give the plaza art that would not fit anywhere else.
The aesthetics of 400 WEST MARKET are accented by several amenities that provide a variety of services for building occupants and other downtown workers. These amenities include retail establishments, restaurants and ATM. A recent addition to the parking garage has increased parking availability to 789 spaces, offering tenants with prime, secure parking.
